Question 1

What’s the difference between wax, stain and paint?

Accepted Answer

Wax enriches the wood grain and gives a soft sheen. Stain changes the colour while leaving the grain visible. Paint gives a more even, solid colour; the natural texture of the timber may still show.

Question 2

How much is a wood sample, and how long does it take to arrive?

Accepted Answer

Contact us to ask about a real wood or painted sample. We’ll confirm availability, the price and delivery time before you order.

Question 3

Will my piece match the sample exactly?

Accepted Answer

Every piece of solid wood has its own grain and knots, which take the finish slightly differently. A sample is a useful guide, but natural variation means it cannot be an exact colour match.

Question 4

Can I have a colour that isn’t shown?

Accepted Answer

Often, yes. Send us the colour name and number, or a reference photo, with your custom quote request and we’ll tell you what’s possible for your chosen piece.

Question 5

How do I look after a waxed finish?

Accepted Answer

Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe up spills promptly. If needed, use a lightly damp cloth and dry the surface afterwards. Avoid abrasive or harsh cleaners, standing water and direct heat. Use coasters and mats, and ask us before applying a new care product.
